I`m Suzanne!
Hi, I’m Suzanne—a Finance and Office administrator for a small deaf charity by day, and a passionate explorer of Scotland’s rich history and landscapes in my spare time. My love for Scotland runs deep, from its breath-taking scenery to the fascinating stories hidden in family trees and ancient ruins. This website is a blend of my interests: travel, genealogy, and the unique magic of Scottish culture. Whether you’re planning a trip, researching your roots, or simply curious about Scotland, I’ve created this space to inspire, guide, and share what I’ve discovered along the way.

My Story
Born and raised in a quaint fishing town in Lincolnshire, I always felt a pull towards the north. Growing up, I often heard whispers of my heritage - a Scotsman for a grandfather, born in the small harbour town of Buckie, Banffshire. Though I lived far from Scotland`s rugged beauty, my heart seemed to beat to its rhythm. As a child, the tales of Scotland felt like bedtime stories - its misty glens, ancient castles, and rich history sparked a curiosity deep within me. Little did I know, it wasn`t just curiosity; it was a connection to my ancestry. Discovering that I was half-Scottish made those feel like a missing piece of my identity falling into place. Life kept me busy as a mother and grandmother, but Scotland always called to me. The first time I set foot there, it was like stepping into a dream I`d been having my whole life. The raw beauty of the highlands, the salty air of fishing villages, and the melodic notes of the bagpipes felt like home. Through my journey, I`ve not only learned about Scotland but also about myself. It`s more than a country - it`s my heart and soul. Whether walking the cobbled streets of Edinburgh or tracing the family roots in Buckie, every moment connects me to those who came before me and the legacy they left behind. Now, I want to share that love with others. Scotland is not just a destination; it`s a story waiting to be told, and for me, it`s the story of who I am.
